Pure Pit Wall correctly predicts another 1-2 finish in an exciting rain soaked race

What an exciting, rain soaked race! The Pure Pit Wall correctly predicted another 1-2 finish (HAM, ROS) for the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One ™ Team.

Race winner, MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ driver Lewis Hamilton led from pole to get his 52nd career race win and win his first ever Brazilian Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton has now won at 24 different tracks, which is more than any other driver in history.

With the right tyre choice call and a superb drive, MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ driver Nico Rosberg finished in P2. This result gave MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS their fifth consecutive Silver Arrows 1-2 and seventh of the season so far.

Due to a number of race incidents, safety car laps and two red flagged sessions, both MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS drivers did not need pit-stops since the team took advantage of the red flag sessions to change both drivers’ tyres. The Team made right call to stick with Wet tyres and not change to Intermediates, which ultimately contributed to the team’s 1-2 victory in the race.

Almost 50% of the race (34 laps) was run under the safety car at the Brazilian Grand Prix, as opposed to the 2015 race where there were no safety car laps. However, this did not reduce the entertainment factor as a total of 101 overtakes were completed throughout the race.

With another 1-2 finish, the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ team (722) have extended their lead over Red Bull (446) by 276 points with just the final race to go. In the Drivers’ Championship, Lewis Hamilton (355) reduced the difference from Nico Rosberg (367) to just 12 points meaning the final race in Abu Dhabi will be a Drivers’ Championship showdown.
