Pre-season testing complete, next stop Australia

The MERCEDES-AMG PETRONAS Motorsport Formula One™ Team successfully completed eight days of pre-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Both MERCEDES-AMG PETRONAS Motorsport Formula One™ Team drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas completed over 1,000 laps with a total distance of over 5,100km covered between them in the F1 W08 EQ Power+. This is equivalent to 16 race distances at the same track.

Following the testing sessions, Valtteri said “I can’t wait for the start lights to go out in Melbourne. It’s been so nice over these past two weeks to see how we operate as a group, both on and off the race track.”

Lewis is also eager to start the new season, and said “It looks like we have a good battle on our hands. I’m happy with what we’ve gained knowledge-wise and feel confident we got everything we needed from this test to go out and fight in Melbourne.”

The first race of the season will take place on March 26th in Melbourne, Australia.
